Join the MHTP National Program Council

Call for NPC Applicants! The deadline to apply is October 19 at 5 pm EST.

The MHTP National Program Council (NPC) is a group approved by the MHTP Board of Directors made up of between 4 - 9 CMPs and currently active MHTP students. The purpose of the MHTP NPC is to serve as a liaison between the MHTP community members and MHTP staff. The NPC meets together approximately 4 times per year to share ideas about how to make MHTP the best it can be in serving the needs of CMPs, students, and partnering beyond our community.

Currently, we are looking for 3 – 5 new members of the NPC. Terms will begin in January 2024. New members will be assigned to either 1-year or 2-year terms based on needs of the NPC and of the new members. NPC meets approximately every 3 months, with the possibility of additional meetings of NPC work groups about every 2 months. All meetings occur virtually on Zoom in the evening, Eastern Time.

The stated purpose of the NPC is to:

1. Serve as a liaison between the MHTP community members and the MHTP operational staff.

2. Advise the MHTP staff—and provide recommendations when appropriate-- regarding program-related issues.

3. Provide representation for Certified Music Practitioners (CMPs)® and MHTP students in the carrying out of MHTP’s mission.

Being a member of the NPC is a leadership role within the MHTP community. We anticipate a great amount of interest in serving on the NPC and expect the selection process to be competitive. It is important that we have a broad and diverse perspective of the MHTP community reflected on the NPC.  Regardless of whether you have been involved with MHTP for a few months or decades, you are encouraged to apply.

Please review the Rules of Operation for the NPC.

Applications close on October 19th, 5 p.m. Eastern time!
