the MHTP National Program Council

The MHTP National Program Council (NPC) consists of 6-8 CMPs and current MHTP students sharing ideas about how to make MHTP the best it can be in serving the needs of CMPs, students, and partners beyond our community. Active since 2018, the NPC:

  • Serves as a liaison between the MHTP community and the Board of Directors.

  • Advises MHTP staff and the Board of Directors regarding program-related issues, making recommendations for change when appropriate.

  • Provides representation for Certified Music Practitioners (CMPs)® and MHTP students to the management of MHTP.

See the full rules of operations of the MHTP National Program Council (PDF).

The NPC meets together every other month, with additional meetings for work groups occurring in the off months. All meetings occur virtually on Zoom.

Being a member of the NPC is a leadership role within the MHTP community. There is a great amount of interest in serving on the NPC, and the selection process is competitive. It is important that we have a broad and diverse perspective of the MHTP community reflected on the NPC.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2021 HAS PASSED. Applicants will be contacted as the selection process concludes.
